Client: BREEZE (Concept)

Roll: Art Director and Ad Designer

objective:

Create an ad concept campaign to promote Breeze electronic cigarettes, and challenge myself to create an unconventional type.

Process:

After listening to a friend complain that "all of their vapes are dead," I teased them, singing "Push me to the edge, all my vapes are dead" to the tune of Lil Uzi Vert's All My Friends Are Dead, which says, "All my friends are dead, push me to the edge." As someone with a dark sense of humor, I thought this was a funny concept, which inspired me to create an ad design concept utilizing the joke as a tagline in Adobe Photoshop. I had recently seen an advertisement that used chewed bubble gum as a type, and wanted to create my own version of an unconventional type.

 

Though Breeze would likely never want to highlight their consumers' frustration of only having dead electronic cigarettes, or even the word death given the risks of vaping, I still found this to be a fun opportunity to challenge myself and create something original-- And my friend enjoyed using the image with a black background as their phone lockscreen for some time following.
