CONCEPT:
Rat City Collective welcomes all, especially emerging artists, in Detroit, Michigan to join us in unifying our skills to collaboratively plan art events. Our goal is to create a vulnerable space for making where we can share work, learn, and form connections with one another and our local community.

LIVESTREAM:
In December 2020, Rat City Collective put on a virtual, five hour performance in Detroit, Michigan showcasing the work of six local artists.
I created this moving image using Adobe After Effects and Illustrator to promote the event. My inspiration was drawn from vintage music festival poster designs, specifically from Wes Wilson, and reimagined his psychedelic designs in a contemporary, avant garde realm.

STAGE DESIGN:
In order to have a portable, low cost structure to centralize events around, I built a stage entirely from free, found shipping palettes. The stage has removable planters inside them, that members of the collective can take turns caring for between events, creating a shared, lasting symbol of life.
